Roses and their Importance


Send Roses - During the flowering season, make a point of feeding your roses with a specialized rose fertilizer that is formulated specifically for them. The balance of nutrients required by roses differs to that required by other plants. Choosing one which contains the correct proportions of nitrogen, potassium and phosphorus will make sure that your roses have a balanced diet. There are many branded rose feeds available and your local garden shop should be able to help you with your choice.

Before shopping for your roses, take the time to look at the plot that you've allocated to them, and ask yourself these questions:

• Is this area getting at the very least, 6 hours of sunlight a day?
• Is the soil suitable for roses?
• What type and size of roses do I want to grow?

Once you've answered these basic questions, then you'll have the information you need to make your purchases.

Buy Roses - When someone buys or gives another a red rose. They are expressing love and romance. However, when the roses are bought with different colors they can take on different meanings. For instance, red and white roses together symbolize unity. This bouquet may be great to reassure someone who may be insecure in a relationship. Pink and red roses together symbolize passion and romance. You would most likely get these if you either want to have sex with someone or already did, but want reinforce that the next time you see one another there will be a repeat performance.

Order Roses - Romantic relationships in their early stages should be signified with white roses which symbolize innocent love. They say “I’m worthy of you,” and are just simply beautiful. Light and dark pink roses symbolize joy and thankfulness, and would make a beautiful way to say how happy you are to have that special someone in your life. If yours was a “love at first sight” encounter, choose lavender roses or thornless roses. Orange roses signify fascination, which also work lovely for blooming relationships, but if you’re not sure where you want the relationship to go, steer clear of putting yellow and orange roses in the same bouquet, as together, they represent passionate intentions.



Soft LavenderLavender roses, those with a soft purple hue, symbolize love at first sight and enchantment – perhaps with a need for discretion. Pure White White roses signify purity in many forms. Loyalty, purity, platonic love and spiritual love – a love of the soul. Bridal white means happy love. White roses can also signify secrecy reverence humility, innocence, or charm. Note that white roses can symbolize death in Asian cultures.



Send Roses - The beauty of the red rose has always driven rose lovers to find ways and means of collecting them, displaying them and growing them. French Empress Josephine, particularly after her divorce with Emperor Napoleon, took to roses and dedicated a large space and resources to the cultivation and hybridization of roses.
